Emily Kirsch
Emily is a seasoned litigator and counselor with over two decades of experience including in-house and with major New York law firms. She represents a wide variety clients of all manner and sizes in complex commercial, intellectual property, corporate, fiduciary duty, employment, and related disputes.
Emily’s litigation clients have included large public and private companies in addition to mid-size companies, startups, non-profits, and individuals. She has substantive expertise ranging from media and technology to asset management and financial services, fiduciary duties, professional services, and commercial and consumer enterprises. She has successfully tried cases to verdict and regularly obtains and defends TROs and preliminary injunctions. Emily frequently appears in state and federal courts and before arbitral panels.
Immediately prior to establishing her own practice, Emily was Acting General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Head of the Corporate Counsel Department for Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest and most profitable hedge fund. Emily practiced for over a decade at the New York Offices Kirkland & Ellis and Reed Smith. Emily’s in-house experience includes Macmillan Publishers, a group of privately owned affiliated publishing houses, including St. Martin’s Press, Henry Holt and Company, Scientific American Magazine, and many other well-known trade and academic imprints and periodicals.
In addition to client representation, Emily has an active mediation and arbitration practice. She is on the panel of neutrals for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the New York State Court – Commercial Division, the AAA, and FINRA, and mediates and arbitrates privately.
Emily lives in Manhattan with her husband and two children and is an active member of the community. She serves on several non-profit boards, including New York Foundation for the Arts and Women Owned Law.
