
Jon Oestreich
Jon’s practice focuses on fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism and other corporate matters. He started his career at a leading law firm in fund formation and M&A and spent a decade as a principal banker and general counsel in the Corporate Finance and M&A line-of-business of a global investment bank where he was also involved in the private equity and merchant banking activities of the bank. He has been a managing director with the global #2-ranked shareholder activism advisory practice during his tenure and a partner and head of the shareholder activism practice at a leading law firm representing global pensions, institutions and hedge funds.
Jon has served on public boards, including as chairman of the audit committee and as a member of special committees responsible for crisis management and negotiating take-private transactions. Jon lives in New York. In his free time, enjoys running and skiing. He serves as an Education Counselor for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
